what has god revealed to you?
1 Corinthians 2:9–12 (NIV) — 9 However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived”— the things God has prepared for those who love him— 10 these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. 11 For who knows a person’s thoughts except their own spirit within them? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. 12 What we have received is not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may understand what God has freely given us.
According to verse 10, who has God revealed things to? Does that include you? What “things” are revealed (see verses 6-9)? How does God reveal them?
What is the difference between things being revealed and us figuring out things on our own? Where is the boasting (see 1:31)?
Paul tells us three things about the Spirit: He reveals (10a), He searches (10b), and He knows (11b).
How has the Spirit revealed things to you? What tools has He used? How have you responded?
What does it mean that the Spirit searches? What does it mean that He searches the deep things of God?
What things does the Spirit know? It might be better to answer the opposite question, what does the Spirit not know – or what is hidden from the Spirit?
What have we received (v. 12)? How did we receive it? When did we receive it? According to this passage, what is the purpose that we have received Him?
Do you understand what God has freely given you? Do you understand better today than in the past? How do you grow in understanding?
