1 Corintians

We are going to start a new series in 1 Corinthians. What comes to mind when you think of 1 Corinthians? For some people it’s spiritual gifts. For others it’s the love chapter (1 Corinthians 13). For others it’s dealing with church conflict. For me it’s ministry. I think 1 and 2 Corinthians tell us more about practical, boots-on-the-ground ministry than any other single book of the bible. This includes both how a pastor should conduct himself and how a congregation should conduct themselves.

I’m not saying that our church is in trouble and needs some radical changes. No person or congregation has yet achieved Christ-like perfection and so we all should continue to grow, learn and change. But there is no specific reason like that that is prompting me to choose to study 1 Corinthians. I just feel led to do so.
