Psalm 100:4
Psalm 100:4, Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.
The setting for this verse is the temple. Today we can think of it as being at church. How has COVID changed your worship at church? Is it easier or harder to praise and worship God?
We look forward to the day when we won’t have COVID restrictions. Try to imagine what that will be like. Will it be the same as before, or will it be different? Will it be better or worse? What changes (if any) would you like to keep and what changes (if any) would you like to make sure we don’t keep?
Now take those thoughts to God in prayer and ask his opinion. Then listen for him to answer (he may not, and that’s OK). How might he have answered those questions? Would his answers be different than yours?
After you have prayed about it consider sharing your thoughts with Pastor Richard.
How do this verse and your thoughts on church services speak to the faithfulness of God? How do they speak to your faith and your faithfulness?
If you’re unable to go to church, or if church is unable to hold in person services, does that show a lack of faithfulness on our part? Why or why not?
